South Island Historic Formula Ford

South Island Historic Formula Ford has been set up to provide the large number of older cars (and perhaps older racers) with competitive and enjoyable racing alongside their contemporaries in a dedicated series. Popular overseas and in the North Island, historic and classic Formula Ford racing is something that SIFF is passionate about developing here in the South Island.

 

We know there are heaps of cars out there and lots of people either already racing or keen to have a go. We also know that historic racers don’t necessarily have big budgets, and above all else, enjoy the competitive but friendly historic/classic racing environment. If that sounds like you, then we’d love to consider you for a spot on the grid for the South Island Historic Formula Ford Series! Historic Formula Ford – a competition essentially for 1970’s cars

Classic Formula Ford – competition essentially for pre 1990 cars (including Class 3)
An overall competition for all cars

 

Our 2023-24 events are:

• Round 1 28-29 Oct 2023 Ruapuna

• Round 2 11-12 Nov 2023 Ruapuna

• Round 3 10-11 Feb 2024 Levels

• Round 4 2 Mar 2024 Levels

 

SIFF Historic Formula Ford runs under the unified Schedule F and the Articles of the SIFF Club. It is not hot-rod racing but a controlled class which allows for fair racing of cars of comparative age.
